John I. McMahon, Jr.
John I. McMahon, Jr. is a trial lawyer with unmatched courtroom experience in the civil and criminal arenas. After he graduated from the Widener Law School in 1988 where he served on Law Review and was a published author in the area of Corporate Law, Mr. McMahon began his legal career in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office where he served as an Assistant District Attorney. Mr. McMahon prosecuted many high profile homicide, narcotics and serious felony cases. While an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. McMahon also instructed police officers throughout Pennsylvania in the area of search and seizure law on a regular basis.
In 1990 Mr. McMahon joined his father, John I. McMahon, Sr., a well-known trial lawyer in his own right who represented many television newscasters, in the new firm of McMahon & McMahon. John I. McMahon, Jr. has since represented thousands of clients in serious criminal cases throughout Pennsylvania and the United States. He has achieved many jury acquittals of his clients in high-profile homicide, rape, narcotics, DUI and other criminal cases. Mr. McMahon is assisted by a skilled team of paralegals, investigators and research assistants.
In addition, Mr. McMahon has represented thousands of clients as plaintiffs in serious personal injury cases as well as federal civil rights claims involving police misconduct. He has achieved many substantial verdicts/settlements for his clients in automobile accident, premises liability, slip and fall, products liability, liquor liability, and construction claims. Mr. McMahon utilizes the expertise of a wide variety of toxicology, medical, engineering, economists, vocational rehabilitation and other experts in prosecuting serious personal injury claims on behalf of his clients.
Mr. McMahon has served as the Solicitor for the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts since 1992 and as Solicitor for the Norristown Fraternal Order of Police between 1993 and 2004. He graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College in 1982 with a B.S. Degree in Business Finance. Mr. McMahon is active in various charitable organizations and he has been a volunteer firefighter with the Norristown Fire Department since 2001.
